Role

Lead UI&UX Designer

Polestar is an electric performance car brand, aim to create better, sustainable, hassle free and strikingly beautiful future.

The Chinese digital team focuses on building digital products that have a good experience for Chinese users, and follow Polestar's overall branding.

As a project from 0 to 1, the project is carried out in a fast iterative way.

As a lead designer, my main tasks were:

1. Help to formulate file storage specifications;

2. Help to create design style guide system for China team;

3. Sort out business needs to product needs

4. Analyze and split the sub-processes of the features, and draw a rough User Flow;

5. Directing the visual direction and design the Mockup, and make interactive prototypes;

The Biggest Challenges

1. The project that requires multiple cooperation, and due to the time difference, communication is a big problem;

2. The electric vehicle industry has added many new areas that require apps and car control system to interact. For example, user need to control cars through APP. So it takes a lot of time to determine what can be done at each stage of the project;

3. We launch the product through iterative, to determine what can be done at each version really takes times.

How to solve the problems

1. We have weekly meeting to sync the info within Europe and China team; For urgent features, set up a 15 mins meeting every day;

2. Prepare the questions, and sort out the process before the brief meeting;

3. Using wireframe to determine the requirements, set up meeting if there is something unclear;

4. Holding the workshop with product team when the requirements not clear;
